Rating:Hottestdealsfortechandgadget.com is a scam website. It very, very convincingly offers (through your e-mail) an “Ace Hardware survey about on-line ordering”. For “select” completed surveys it offers $100 in free merchandise of your choice. However on checkout there turns out to be a high shipping charge, and various “Options” that you have to scroll through and reject, which you are charged for whether you chose them or not. Offering legitimate secure credit card billing, your credit card is immediately billed with no option to edit or decline your original order. No matter what you do you will be billed minimally $19.95 and maximally much more if you actually chose any of the offered options. I immediately e-mailed their “support” e-mail address to complain…. with no response. My credit card company called me 24 hours later to warn me about the website being a scam. I had to cancel my credit card and order a replacement. Neither of the two customer support telephone lines provided by my credit card company responded with a human being, or a voice mail call back option.
These scammers clearly secured an HTTPS PROTOCOL, giving them the guise of legitimacy and the ability to directly charge your credit card. Beware! Hottestdealsfortechgadgets.com is an elaborate scam…..don’t be fooled like I was.
